Thailand is gorgeous. I feel as though we only touched the tip of the iceberg with this trip and will most certainly be back. We planned this trip about a year earlier as neither my husband or I had been to south east Asia. My husband proposed to me a week before we left- I immediately became a douche, and called it our “engagement-moon.” Lame. But the trip was ANYTHING but lame.
Thailand was magical, breathtaking, and beyond our wildest dreams. We also decided to leave LAX the day some psycho shot up terminal 3, targeting TSA agents. It was a sad day for sure. After drinking heavily for 7 hours in the new Tom Bradley International Airport Terminal at LAX, we got on the (sweet!) Korean Air airbus, spent a night in Korea due to earlier alluded to shooting, and landed in Bangkok. Before we left, everyone we talked to said “skip Bangkok,” and during our trip everyone that had spent time there echoed that sentiment. We flew into one airport in Bangkok, took a bus across town to the other airport (Beware- there are two Bangkok airports!) and flew north.
West Railay Beach (fly into Krabi)
Whoa, bro. Just go. Off the beaten path- the opposite of Phuket, Koh Samui, etc. Still relatively untouched, away from that garbage Eurotrash and college bro douches you get in the party island cities. GO.
